The summer of 2012 will be marked as the first “Art Beat Festival”. Every Friday evening through July and August the businesses on Willow Street stayed open until 9 p.m. and artists were able to display their work.

Carlyle Portraits provided the opportunity to have your portrait incorporated into the Art Beat poster as shown above. Below is the poster for Phil Mavis who brought the Art Beat concept to Chemainus.
Art Beat also provided the opportunity for a couple of entrepreneurs to start a shoe shine business. The montage was created by art to show this innovation.
